The picture of this lamp doesn't do it justice. They are gorgeous! The description is off a bit, though. Base of lamp is 6.25" x 6.25", lamp shade is 4.75" in diameter, and the lamp has an overall height of 18 5/8". The lamp takes a type B light bulb, the sticker on the felt covered bottom says up to 40W.
I ordered a pair of them in Walnut for my nightstands in my Asian/Zen themed master bedroom and they are perfect. They were very well packaged and arrived in perfect condition. The lamps have an inline rocker switch on a black cord that is very easy to operate. The shade is a stiff paper wrapped with a linen-like fabric with a nice texture to it. The top of the bulb is about 10.5" from the bottom of the tube, which does not come out, so you will need to be able to get your hand in there to screw the bulb in. I got 25W type B candelabra bulbs for mine, and they give a nice soft light to the room. If you're looking for a reading lamp, these are not for you, but if you want a gentle ambiance and Zen feel, you'll be very happy with these.
