was skeptical at first, but...Feb 09, 2010

I was hesitant to purchase this lamp off Amazon without there being any user reviews for it, but I decided to take the plunge anyway. Having just gotten the lamp delivered and put together today, I can say I'm glad I did. It definitely has presence in a room. It looks very elegant on its own, but once it's turned on it really gives a beautiful mood. The only CON I can think of, is that the top piece [for my model at least] doesn't quite fit. And I'm afraid if I force it in, it will rip the adhesive that holds the shades together. This is only a minor annoyance, and it looks great even without the cap. I don't imagine all the models would carry this same defect.
Be forewarned, though: Don't expect this lamp to be very bright. That may have been a false assumption on my part. I put in two 60-watt bulbs, which is the maximum recommendation on the box. Again, it creates very nice mood lighting, but don't expect it to be enough for a primary light in a room, if you have no other lighting.
All that being said, I am very very satisfied with this lamp, and especially the price when compared to similar style models offered elsewhere.
